2013 Ford Focus Electric

The Focus Electric, which launched in 2011, is the flagship of the new Ford family of electrified vehicles. Aston Martin must have left behind a few drops of DNA when they left the Ford family because the brand’s new front grill, while very beautiful, has a very strong resemblance.

It has a top speed of 84 mph, with a full recharge is expected to take three to four hours. Our friends at Shiny Side sent us these great images from a current test drive IDM Photo‘s Ian did.

If you like the new Ford Focus, you can now have the opportunity to get your hands on the very beautiful 2013 252 HP ST since the order bank is now open. Its new “Aston Martin”  looking front grill gives it a real mean and nasty look (in a good way) and we’re even partial to this very energetic and bright orange color.

Seat Ibiza Cupra : 2012

2012 Seat Ibiza Cupra concept.

The Volkswagen Group’s Seat division presented the Ibiza Cupra as a close-to-production concept car at the 2012 Beijing International Motor Show. The production version arrives at the end of this year with 180 HP and is an icon of the brand since 1996 when the first generation hit the streets.

2013 Audi A3

The 2013 Audi A3 3-door hatchback was introduced to the world on March 5th, 2012 and this third generation premiered at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. Versions with hybrid and alternative drive systems such as natural gas and Audi e-gas are currently in development. A version with an exceptionally efficient 1.6 TDI engine will launch on the market in 2012 with its completely redesigned interior.

The 2012 Chevrolet Tru 140s concept, which was introduced at the 2012 North American International Auto Show, is a three-door hatchback designed to be an attractive-yet-affordable sports car. Based on the Cruze platform and the Chevy Volt, its purpose was to demonstrate technologies typically found in more expensive cars.

Audi is on fire. There is no better brand out there today, and with their extensive expansion into almost every category, the new 2012 Audi A1 S-Line does not disappoint. This 5-door hatch is coming in early 2012 with choice of 12 paint finishes and a choice of six four-cylinder engines, with a maximum of 185hp.

2013 Chevrolet Spark

The 2013 Chevrolet Spark is a five-door hatchback with a 1.2 liter four-cylinder, developing 85.2 horse power. It will debut at the 2011 Los Angeles International Auto Show and is the only car in its segment to offer a seven-inch color touch screen radio capable of displaying smart phone-based navigation, media and contacts for hands-free calling.

Chevrolet Sonic Z-Spec #1 : 2011

2011 Chevrolet Sonic Z-Spec #1

The 2011 SEMA show is the stage for Chevrolet’s Sonic Z-Spec #1, where designers took a turbocharged Sonic five-door and added concept Z-Spec accessories including ground effects, spoiler, grille and graphics package. The Torch Red exterior is finished off with concept Z-Spec 18-inch wheels. Inside, the Cobalt Red cabin features custom trimming, including perforated black suede seat inserts, a concept Z-Spec sport pedal kit, sport shift knob and a racing-style flat-bottom steering wheel.

Scion iQ : 2012

2012 Scion iQ

The 2012 Scion iQ premium micro-subcompact will begin arriving in dealerships in October of 2011. Its only 10 feet long but seats four people. I wasn’t in love with it when I first saw it but I must admit that I think its growing on me. It starts at $15,265 and its 1.3-liter, four-cylinder that produces 94 horsepower and 89 lb.-ft of torque.

Volkswagen Nils : 2011

2011 Volkswagen Nils.

The 2011 Volkswagen Nils electric concept shown at the 2011 64th International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt is a bit of an oddball, and some would say not a real hatchback, but I think it qualifies on two counts. The rear opens like a hatch, and I like Volkswagen. Who knows, this might be what the future of hatchbacks is.

The 2012 Ferrari FF could possibly be the most beautiful hatchback put on the market in some time. It’s an odd offering from Ferrari, but also a brilliant one. The FF – an acronym for Ferrari Four (four seats and four-wheel drive). Designed by Pininfarina, The FF features the company’s first ever four-wheel drive system. The new 6,262 cc direct injection V12 engine which develops 660 CV at 8,000 rpm. More on Cartype.

The 2012 Hyundai Veloster is called a three-door coupe, but it’s a hatchback as we see it. It had a world debut at the 201 North American International Auto Show. It’s all-new 1.6-liter GDI Gamma engine paired with proprietary Hyundai six-speed manual transmission and Hyundai’s first dual-clutch transmission delivers up to 40 mpg highway. It is loaded with all kinds of tech stuff, from a standard multi-function seven-inch touch-screen display, Pandora® internet radio capability, Gracenote® display technology with voice recognition, Virtual CD downloading, AVI and mpeg video playback via USB, Video game console connectivity with 115-volt power outlet, Bluetooth® hands-free phone system with voice recognition, just to name a few. Audi A2 : 2011

2011 Audi A2 concept

The 2011 Audi A2 electric only powertrain premium-class concept shows us the future of electric mobility at the 64th International Motor Show in Frankfurt in 2011. It has a flat interior floorboard, next phase in LED technology, known as matrix beam and a red bar of light flows forward from the tail lights when braking and demonstrates the strength of the brakes intuitively for other road users.
